In the end, arguing for or against religion, especially on the basis of whether it is good or bad for us, is like arguing for or against automobiles or ice cream or sex. Just because they know it’s the right thing to do doesn’t mean people are going to trade in their SUVs for goat carts or end every meal with a crunchy apple or drive out to Inspiration Point for the sole purpose of exchanging a series of vigorous handshakes.
